Stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend and we loved this hotel! The hotel is clean, modern, bright, and has a great location.
They also had a lot of information stuck on the walls while we were there – such as the day’s weather forecast and autumn foliage forecasts in various locations in Kyoto! Brochures and their very own leaflets with nearby food recommendations are also available!
Location
The hotel is a 5mins walk away from Kyoto Station (Hachiojoguchi exit), 1min walk away from Kyoto Avanti mall (there’s a Don Quijote open till midnight in there! You just need to cross a small 2-lane crossing to reach the side entrance of it!), and a 0.5mins walk away from Lawson (just right next door).
If you’re planning to go on day trips via bus tours, the pickup point for expressway buses and tour buses is in front of Avanti mall, so that’s about a 3mins walk away. No vending machines there (I’m speaking from experience) so grab your drink from one along the way there! The nearest one would be a traffic crossing away towards Kyoto station, and there are a line of vending machines there.
Getting there / Lobby / Hotel Entrance
Taking the Hachijoguchi exit (you can find the McDonald’s at JR Kyoto Station Hachijo entrance, that’s a good landmark especially from the Karasuma Line), once you exit the station and are facing Avanti (basically, not the side with Kyoto Tower or the Bus Interchange), cross the road and you’ll wanna head towards your diagonal left. There are street crossings to take, so generally it’s an organised route.
Once you past Lawson, the hotel will be on your right. There may be some e-scooters parked outside, in front of a really nice wooden facade (especially at night). This is the hotel!

And I just gotta add, the entrance is really cute especially during the festive seasons. This is the Christmas decor they had on!

The lobby is on the ground floor, you’ll be in it right after going through the two automatic doors at the entrance.

Check-in is done at the self-service kiosk. They do have friendly staff at the front desk who will be able to help if you face any difficulties 😀 (You can also drop off your luggage with them for luggage delivery service). You can also do purchase breakfast tickets (for the hotel breakfast) and do a self-service Check-Out via the kiosks.

Closer to the elevators are the shelves with free amenities. I’ll share more about that in the Amenities section below!
A cute touch by the hotel is also the handwritten posters they have on the weather and autumn foliage/momiji forecast. If you need food recommendations, they also have leaflets of that next to the elevator :>

The View
Lucky for us, we had the corner room! So that’s two windows for us – one facing the building next door (so no view there at all) and another in the same direction as the front of the hotel, so there was a bit of a view there of the street across!

The Room
We got the Comfort Double Non-Smoking Room that’s about 16m^2 big. Although it was the corner room, I believe all the other rooms are also this spacious (for a standard Japanese hotel). Check-in starts at 3pm and Check-Out is by 11am.

And a few more pics here on the items supplied in the room:

Bathroom
A standard Japanese unit bathroom, with a washlet (with seat warmer!!), a small bathtub with handheld shower and very good water pressure (and drainage), and a small sink. Bathroom amenities are not provided in here since what you require can be taken from the lobby (see my section on the amenities in the lobby). There are two of each of the following provided: cups, hand towels, and bath towels. Twin hooks can be found behind the door.

Amenities
A hairdryer and a foldable desk mirror are also provided in the room (located in the drawer of the desk). VOD tickets can be purchased at your room’s lift lobby, which is also where the trouser press can be found.

There are many other bathroom/self-care amenities that can be taken from the amenities shelf in the lobby. This includes dental kits, shavers, sachets of lotion/hair essence/skincare/sunscreen, body sponges, hair ties, hair brushes, coffee & tea, etc! Pajamas are also available in the shelf next to the elevator (no they’re not provided in the rooms itself).

Gym / Pool
There’s no gym or swimming pool in this hotel
Breakfast
Breakfast tickets can be purchased at the self-service kiosk in the hotel lobby (note that transactions are cashless!). Breakfast is served in the hotel’s restaurant, also located at Level 1.

There is a seasonal menu that is set and displayed around the hotel, including in the lift, at the front desk, and in front of the hotel’s restaurant. They do have the daily menu in Japanese, English, Korean and Mandarin. There is also a sign in the restaurant that a vegetarian menu is also available!

The breakfast buffet spread is hearty and has a decent variety (even for the drinks!). My boyfriend and I went later at about 9am, and the restaurant wasn’t crowded at that timing. With the lack of a crowd, it really was a chill and peaceful morning 😌
The restaurant isn’t huge, but I think it’s a comfortable size. The tray return area is easily accessible and everything is kept neat and tidy.

Other random recallable stuff
The coin laundry is located at Level 1, in the same room as the vending machine and ice machine. There are 2 washer-dryer machines available and they’re both front-load machines.
