So here’s a post about my experience staying in Andaz Singapore for the very first time! I’ve seen the Instagram stories of many friends and this place always looks so nice – especially for the view from the room! It was a great stay and I’m actually looking forward to the next time I stay here 😆
I took the room-only (essential) package which didn’t come with breakfast or access to the pool/gym (it’s SRV-claimable, btw 😆). Breakfast can be added on at $25++ per pax (unless purchased on an ala-carte basis), and you will need to inform the front desk 1 day prior to the breakfast. Since the restrictions are being relaxed and dining-in is allowed again for vaccinated individuals, you can have breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant. Alternatively, if you are unvaccinated or waiting for your 2nd jab to take the full effect, you can have your breakfast served in your room.
Checking-in was very smooth and swift, and required a $100 deposit (y’know, in case of any damages). Check-out was even swifter – just leave the room cards on a tray at the front desk, and that’s it!
I managed to get an early check-in time slot at 12pm-1pm (usually it’s around 3pm) and also could check-out slightly later at 1.30pm (usually it’s 12pm) so mega yay for this!
Location
Andaz is located in DUO Galleria with the nearest MRT station being Bugis (green/blue line). On the outside, the DUO Galleria building has an iconic design of being covered in hexagons. It is also located right next to Parkview Square (also known to many as “the Batman building”), and is within walking distance of many landmarks such as Raffles Hospital, Bugis Junction / Bugis Street / Bugis+, and Haji Lane & Arab Street! A slightly longer walk could even lead you to Suntec City and the National Library. So this location is super accessible to lots of places and food choices.
And speaking of food choices… the ground and basement levels of DUO Galleria has plenty of restaurants and food stalls, and there is actually a direct link to Bugis MRT! So what did I do for dinner? Ordered pizza from downstairs and went to pick it up! Hehehehehe 😛
Hotel Entrance + Lobby
The hotel entrance (also where check-in takes place) is on Level 2 and the hotel lobby is on Level 25. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the main way of getting to the entrance is via the pick-up/drop off point at Level 2, or via the elevators from the Basement carpark and shops levels.
And on the inside of the hotel… The lift accessible at the hotel entrance at Level 2 also serves the basement levels, which is a shortcut to get to the shops and MRT station (via B3: just go through the door right next to the lift lobby) 😀
To get to the guest rooms, you will need to take the lift from Level 2 (Hotel Entrance) to Level 25 (Andaz Lobby), then change to the adjacent lift lobby to access Levels 26 and up to Level 39.

Lifts are wheelchair-friendly too!
There are separate lifts serving the guest rooms

Room
View
The view is great! The room I got was on the 30th floor, facing the Batman/Gotham building. If you got a room on the other side of the hotel, you would be able to see the Marina skyline instead 😀 Oh you’ll notice that there are dots on the window based on the photos below – they’re from the window stickers (I guess to maintain some levels of privacy from the neighboring building while letting guests enjoy the view).
By the way! There’s a pretty interesting way to draw the curtains 😉 No need to pull them – just press the buttons found on the panel at the bedside table!!! 😀
Main Room Area
Overall, the room came with a King bed, sofa, large TV and large table. There are 2 doors that links to the main room – one connects straight to the bathroom, and another to the corridor that brings you to the walk-in closet (which leads you back to the bathroom anyway lol) ~
+ You can take a look at the pics I’ve got on this entire blog post to get an idea of the entire room’s layout if you need it 😀
The air conditioner is strong – especially good for hot days. The thermostat is adjustable for temperature and fan speed, and there is an option to switch the air conditioner off if it gets too cold.
All table and bedside lamps have a knob to allow you to adjust the brightness of the lamp.

The room comes with a bluetooth speaker! 😀 Just press and hold the Bluetooth button and it’ll announce that it’s on pairing mode~

Switches on the right side of the bed
Oh and a coupon for laundry~
The thermostat is next to the door on the right side of the bed and yes – you can change the temp, fan speed, or just switch the AC off
Cable TV is available, and the TV can be swiveled out to angle the TV to be nicely visible from the bed as well (since it’s originally facing the table/sofa area). You can turn it to 90degrees as well (or even more, I guess :P)
There’s a sofa that is good for 3 (or someone could even sleep on it) with plenty of plush cushions. Next to the sofa (and table) are some wall plugs – one thing to note though: the USB plug charges at a pretty slow speed.
Bathroom
The bathroom is split into 2 segments: the shower/vanity area, and a separate area for the toilet (kinda like the way the bathrooms are in a Japanese-styled house)
At the vanity area is the washbasin, and plenty of table space for all your make-up and skincare products to go on. There’s even a seat provided so that anyone can take their time to comfortably put on their make-up there, in front of the close-up mirror provided. A drawer can also be found here, and in it are the hair-dryer and bathroom amenities.
The shower stall comes with a handheld shower and rain shower, both controllable from the same knob – as you turn it, it can activate either only the handheld showerhead, only the rain shower, or both at the same time. A Velcro strip is also stuck on one side of the knob – a pretty clever trick to allow users to turn the knock despite having soapy hands.
The water pressure is great, and the hot water supply is constant. The temperature knob is more accurate for the rain shower, but for the handheld shower you would want to take note that the water will always come out hotter (so you should adjust the temperature to be lower).
FYI: the shower/vanity area has a sliding door that can separate away from the walk-in closet/toilet area.
As mentioned, the toilet is in a separate area with its own door (lockable) and there’s a small washbasin inside it too.
Walk-in Closet + a bit of the Corridor
Right outside the toilet is the walk-in closet. Basically it’s an open space with a full length mirror (hidden behind the sliding door to the shower/vanity area, an area to hang clothes or place bags, and there are also plenty of spaces for storage at the side, which is also where you can find the safe deposit box. Plenty of hangers are provided, and there is also an iron that you can find here. The ironing board is stored next to the full length mirror – it’s hidden in a flat cupboard facing the storage area where you can find the iron at.
Side note: the bedroom slippers provided are the old-school slippers that many of us Singaporeans remember that we can buy from shops in the heartland areas 😀 The unique twist is that they have “Stolen from Andaz” on it 🙈 – another nod to a very Singaporean-y behavior to “kope” free stuff from hotels and whatnot HAHAHA. Anyway there were 2 pairs provided – one in size M and another in size L 😀

The ironing board is stored on the left in this photo. Then there’s the full length mirror, which is behind this sliding door that leads to the vanity/shower area.
Walk-in closet also links to the corridor in front of the main door ~
No need to slot in your access card to get the electricity going!
Peep-hole has a cover for better privacy!
And basically this is the corridor that links the main door, walk-in closet, and main room area. There are some hooks along the side for you to hang your bags/coats ~

Other amenities
The coffee and tea making corner has a Nespresso machine, teapot and electric kettle. The minibar is in the lowest drawer, and we had access to one free round of the minibar stock. In total, there are 4 complimentary bottles of water – 2 at the coffee and tea making corner, and 1 each at either sides of the bed (on the bedside table).
